Upper IV French & History Trip to the British Film Institute

on

Last Tuesday, we went to London for an Upper IV French and History trip to visit the British Film Institute to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day whilst also watching the film ‘ Le Voyage De Fanny’ directed by Lola Doillon.

Before the film, we watched selected extracts from the movie to understand and appreciate what children in the Holocaust went through. We also learnt more about the persecution that Jews faced during WWII. The film displayed a young girl named Fanny’s journey guiding a group of Jewish children through multiple dangerous locations to reach safety in Switzerland, which was a neutral county in WWII.

The film was shown in French, making it a great opportunity to improve our French vocabulary while also learning more deeply about the experiences of Jewish people in the Holocaust, specifically children.
