Upper II Take on PGL Marchants Hill!

on

Last week, Upper II set off on their much-anticipated residential trip to PGL Marchants Hill, returning with wide smiles, muddy trainers, and a whole host of unforgettable memories!

Throughout the trip, our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, resilience and camaraderie. From soaring down the zip wire and scaling the rock climbing wall, to the thrilling descent of the abseil tower, they showed courage, determination, and an excellent sense of adventure. One of the biggest highlights was the giant stand-up paddleboard session, which tested not just their balance, but also their teamwork and coordination, with plenty of splashing along the way!

The excitement didn’t stop there. Pupils navigated the dark and winding tunnel maze, learned survival skills that involve firelighting, tackled a muddy assault course, and showed great stealth and strategy while playing Ambush in the moonlit woods, an evening game of hide-and-seek that was as exciting as it was unforgettable.

Beyond the activities, Upper II showed real maturity and responsibility. They took great care in keeping their rooms tidy, looked out for one another, and demonstrated kindness, patience, and encouragement throughout the week. Mealtimes were a hit, especially the much-loved salad bar, which many pupils returned to with enthusiasm!

The trip was more than just an adventure; it was a chance to grow. We were so proud to see every pupil developing as a risk-taker, showing courage in new situations, and acting as principled ambassadors for the school. The camaraderie, laughter, and personal growth were a joy to witness.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at PGL and our school team for their care and dedication, and a huge well done to Upper II for making the most of every moment!
