The senior girls travelled to Bradfield College for the County Championships in good form after a comfortable victory against St Josephs on the preceding Monday.

The Abbey School Under 18s squad finished second at the Berkshire County Championships, to qualify for the South Central Championships in November. For the second year running, the crucial game, against St Marys, Ascot was a tight affair. The outstanding Abbey team dominated possession for the majority of the game, but couldn’t find the crucial break through, before conceding a goal from a penalty corner with only 90 seconds remaining, A desperate attempt to secure an equaliser saw St Marys score again on the break, but a strong performance gives encouragement that the team can achieve success at the regional competition later in the year.
