Unfortunately our cup run is over!

On Tuesday, we played Millfield, a school known for its sporting excellence. This was always going to be a thrilling fixture, putting our Upper III’s against one of the strongest sporting schools in the South, but this did not deter our enthusiasm and competitiveness.

We made an excellent start and we led at various points in the first three quarters. Millfield were tough and physical as expected, but The Abbey rose to the challenge and continued to dominate and showed some excellent passages of play.

The score kept going back and forth, neither team really dominating play. We went into the last quarter trailing by two goals and Millfield started the final quarter with the centre pass and increased the goal difference to three immediately. The U12’s did not give in and kept battling until the end which showed great determination and perseverance. The final score was The 13-17 to Millfield. It was a super, super effort by the whole squad.

Well done Under 12’s. We look forward to seeing you develop as a squad.
