Trips Week: Valencia Lower V

on

Day one; This morning, we arrived in sunny Valencia, settled into the hotel, and enjoyed delicious Valencian paella and traditional fartons.

We travelled by underground to Costa de Valencia school and back to the hotel for dinner.

Day two: We had a great day discovering the historic city centre of Valencia: a wealth of typical local foods were on show at the covered market and we did a scavenger hunt around town about famous Valencian people and landmarks. After a delicious two-course meal at a restaurant we explored the Museum of Fine Arts and then practised our Spanish in our language lessons. Undoubted highlights were churros at breakfast and authentic shopping at the market.

Day three: Yesterday we all had a fantastic day in Valencia despite the unfavourable weather. After the morning language lessons, we had lunch in a local restaurant trying local dishes, and later had a rainy but enjoyable walk to the largest aquarium in Europe! We first saw an impressive dolphin show and learnt about their efforts in helping marine life, then explored the fish and marine creatures in the aquarium. It was fascinating seeing the beluga whales, which were very friendly and loved coming close to the glass to see us! We all had an amazing day learning about the impressive marine life in the aquarium.

Day four: Lower V had a real taste of the huge range of activities that Valencia has to offer: we briefly explored a big market, went to an amazing beach where we cooled down in the sea after our walk, and in the centre of the town we had some free time to explore local shops as well as some of the girls’ favourites brands. Our evening ended in true Spanish style in a tapas bar. After a day of glorious sunshine we almost forgot how wet our socks had got the previous day.
