The Summer Reading Challenge

on

Hello,

I am Rewa and I won The Jane Austen Summer Reading Challenge last year, so this year Miss Wenman asked me to help devise the challenge which is on mystery and adventure novels.

Doing this year’s Summer Reading Challenge seems a flawless way to spend the summer holidays relaxing, yet trying to solve the mysteries before the characters do is like a major brain workout. I chose these books because they are so fast-paced and exciting that you’ll never get bored, plus they are the perfect way to escape and have fun without leaving your chair.

Looking back, the Jane Austen and historical fiction challenge was really enjoyable – and a learning experience. Seeing how people dealt with life back then compared to now is so interesting, and reading Austen’s clever style has aided me in my creative writing skills especially when more sophisticated words were needed in written pieces. I totally recommend you do the mystery and adventure themed reading challenge this summer as you never know what you may discover and learn at the same time! There are prizes for everyone from Rosas, to a book of your choice – and a chance to win one of two signed Holly Jackson novels or Ruby Redfort sets.
