Ms Lopresti and Mrs Peretto were the first two delegates from the independent sector who attended the National Education Union Annual Conference in the last 20 years from Reading District.
What an amazing 4 days!

They were proud to be part of the democratic decision making process on National Education Union matters, attending debates, voting on policies aimed at providing the best and most inclusive educational system in the United Kingdom.
Some of the key educational priorities at the core of the Conferences debated during the presentation of motions and amendments were:
Anti-racist campaigns and International support.
Calling for the restoration of all arts and creative subjects as a crucial part of the curriculum.
Making 2025 the Trade Union Year of Climate Action for a more sustainable future for our planet, our schools and future generations.
Fair pay and conditions for educators and support staff.
Ableism, inclusion, and disabilities.

Ms Lopresti and Mrs Peretto feel so inspired to continue advocating for equality, inclusion, and freedom. They are looking forward to the next NEU National Conference in Brighton next year!
