The National Chess Finals for Girls Schools at St. Catherine’s, Bramley took place on 5 and 6 April.

In total we played 9 matches, over Saturday and Sunday, which each lasted 45 mins to an hour. We stayed in the boarding accommodation at St Catherine’s overnight which was a great experience. We began the weekend nice and early, with our first round of playing at 11 am. The games were quite tough, as many of the players were some of the best players in the country. However after a long weekend, after the last round we had achieved a total of 17 points, which was enough for 4th place, only missing out by half a point for 3rd. We were still happy with this achievement as it meant that we were the 4th best team in the country, which is not bad at all! We would also like to thank Mr Hills for being there with us for the whole weekend and cheering us on, as we could not have done it without him!
