On Saturday 12 October the Junior School was transformed into a world of adventures as we welcomed over 100 families into The Adventure Zone! Following the path of hobbits, making sweets with Willy Wonka and creating potions with Hermione Granger and Harry Potter were just some of the fantastic activities on offer. Millie (Lower I) said ‘I loved the science activity because we made potions and the way they exploded was fascinating!’.
Like Millie, many of our current Junior School families got stuck into activities on the day. Leenah (Lower I) said ‘My favourite part was Ninja Warriors because we had to use the balance bars and do lots of different things’. Run by our PE Department, the Ninja Warriors Obstacle Course required skill, speed and poise, as adventurers were timed to complete the course. Our first, second and third fastest competitors were awarded prizes at the end. Huge congratulations to our course winners!
Our youngest adventurers got to know Superworm and his friends by building wooden insects, getting messy in the mud and making magic wands for the Wizard Lizard! Some even travelled all the way from darkest Peru to the busy city of London on an adventure with Paddington. Meanwhile, others tackled the tall, wavy grass and the big dark forest whilst on a bear hunt!
The Adventure Zone is the third in a series of immersive ‘Zone’ events hosted at The Abbey Junior School, open to visitors and our current students. Thank you to everyone who attended – we hope you had as much fun as we did!
