Students attending Lower IV Textiles Club have been celebrating the completion of their reversible tote bags, and the results are fantastic. Each student began the project from scratch, carefully laying out and cutting fabric using a paper pattern, before following pattern notations and instructions to construct their bag.
Throughout the project, students were encouraged to think independently, using a finished example to work out the next steps and solve problems as they arose. This approach helped them to develop confidence, resilience and technical understanding, as well as a wide range of practical textiles skills.
The finished bags include internal and external pockets, personalised decorative details and a fully reversible design. It has been wonderful to see students transform flat pieces of fabric into useful, high-quality products that reflect their own creativity and attention to detail.
Very well done to everyone involved. The finished bags are a brilliant example of the skill, imagination and problem-solving that take place in Textiles.
