On Thursday 13 November, the Art students in Upper IV, Lower V, Lower VI and Upper VI visited The Tate Modern Art Gallery in London. The older students had the opportunity to explore the permanent collection. We were allowed to explore the fascinating Nigerian Modernism Exhibition. Nine rooms were filled with amazing and breathtaking artworks. We saw sculptures, paintings, textiles, photography, portraits, sketches and ceramics – it was truly a sight to behold. We went around sketching our favourite artworks, and this was the most enjoyable part of our trip as we did some hands-on practical work along the way. After exploring the different artworks, we sat down for lunch and we had a bit of time to explore the gift shop as well. Some of us bought some wonderful souvenirs and fridge magnets! Overall, it was a remarkable experience and we are so glad that we were given this opportunity.
