Throughout the summer holidays, Grace W in Upper V and Margaret in Upper III once again contributed to the community, not just by performing piano at St. Luke’s care home. This time, they decided to extend their work within the community by buying food for the Salvation Army.
They used their pocket money to purchase cans of food, whether chicken noodle soup or tomato pasta! They aim to do this on a regular basis, and always remember to split the bill equally, since it is a joint effort! The Salvation Army, located on Castle Street, helps people realise that they don’t have to fight any challenge alone, and will never have to stay on the streets again.
They hope that by getting involved with the community, they will also encourage others to share a little bit more kindness within their own community.

‘The Salvation Army embodies compassion and Christian love in feeding the hungry, caring for the homeless, and attending to the afflicted and the downtrodden.’ – President Ronald Reagan.
