Last weekend at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. I was lucky enough to be selected as a finalist for the National Embroidery Award, which meant my work was on display at The Creative Crafts Show. Over the four days of the show, more than 10,000 visitors passed through the gallery.

My entry, titled Embroidering Calm, serves as a response to our increasingly fast-paced world. It explores the concept of ‘slow craft,’ focusing on the use of hand embroidery as a way to slow down and relax, as the repetitive motion of the stitch soothes and calms my busy mind.

One of the highlights of exhibiting was meeting some of my fellow finalists and seeing the incredible diversity of talent on display along with witnessing the public’s warm response to my work.
