Tranthini, our extremely talented Sports Captain, Scholar and A Level PE student in Upper VI, took part in the Senior English Badminton Championships recently, which is the highest level tournament in England.

The tournament was held in Manchester and started on Saturday, where she competed in both singles and doubles. She won her opening matches in both disciplines, reaching the quarter finals later that day. She then won her singles quarter final to advance to the semi finals, which she was understandably extremely delighted with! In doubles, she lost in the quarter finals to the number one ranked pair, but she felt it was a valuable learning experience.

On Sunday, Tranthini played in the singles semi finals, where she lost after a strong fight against her opponent, who went on to become the champion. Overall, she is very happy with her achievement of getting her first medal at senior nationals.

Congratulations on this outstanding success Tranthini! You are a world class athlete and we cannot wait to see what else you achieve in your Badminton career.
