Students broaden their horizons with our Taster Lessons scheme

on

At The Abbey, we are particularly proud of our unique Taster Lessons programme, a scheme whereby a student can sign up, either individually or with a friend, to learn a new instrument (or start voice lessons) for a term with one of our fantastic peripatetic teachers. There’s no obligation to continue beyond that term, though many of our students do!

One successful graduate of the Taster Lessons programme is Aadya in Lower IV. She had played the guitar a little when she was younger but when her dad told her about taster lessons at The Abbey, she thought it would be a great opportunity to see if she could take her playing to the next level. After a successful first term, she continues to learn with Mrs Robinson and particularly enjoys some of the work they do on modern pop songs. “The lessons are really fun,” Aadya says, “and I’d recommend the taster programme to anyone!”

A course of eight lessons is available for interested students in the summer term on an incredibly wide range of instruments. Please email Mrs Julia Dahmann, our music administrator, to apply or for more information: musicadmin@theabbey.co.uk
