Angela Davis

Angela Davis studied Voice at The Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff, studying voice with Miriam Bowen and graduating with a 2:1 (hons) music degree.

Angela has 20 plus years of teaching experience, coaching both classical and musical theatre repertoire and preparing students for grade exams, as well as local and national auditions – and often just for the sheer enjoyment that comes with singing.

Student successes include involvement in the coaching of a BBC Young Chorister of the Year Finalist 2025, winner of the national UK Musical Theatre Young Singer of the Year 2020, senior category, as well as coaching a dancer who was subsequently cast as Billy Elliot. Many students study to diploma level and beyond as they continue their musical education.

Angela’s first love is classical music: opera as well as art song and oratorio and she still performs regularly far and wide, both on the stage and as an invited soloist for choirs and orchestras, as well with Engelfield Ensemble which combines voice with 2 clarinets and piano. She is Head of Voice for MTB Exams working as a specialist examiner, and loves to encourage young voices to reach and maximise their potential through positive and constructive feedback. Angela also enjoys the lighter singing style, singing American Songbook repertoire herself as part of a guitar and vocal duo, and loves to teach musical theatre as an accessible middle ground to musical enjoyment and vocal development.
