Shrek The Musical

on

Last week was tiring but highly successful for the cast, crew and band of Shrek! Some of our Lower VI students have summed up their thoughts and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Nusaibah (Cast): Shrek was by far my favourite experience this year. Mrs Elliott, Ms Bilkey and Molly worked so hard to help create such an incredible show that really brought the whole cast and crew together and I’ll always remember the new friends I made. I think what’s really special about Shrek is how we’re now forever connected through this big bright beautiful world where we can share these memories with people across year groups!

Eunice (Cast): As someone who has a strong passion for Musical Theatre, I was delighted to play the Dragon, an iconic and powerful character in the show. It was incredibly rewarding to see our hard work pay off, and I believe everyone involved enjoyed the experience. On behalf of the cast, I would like to thank our Director, Mrs Elliott, our Musical Director, Ms Bilkey, and our Choreographer, Molly for their guidance and support in helping us create such an incredible and unforgettable show!

Daisy (Cast): I was thrilled to be included in this musical, it’s been such a fun experience to learn all the songs and dances with the amazing creative team and all the cast members across different year groups. Musicals are always fun, but this one was special as it was my last year and I made loads of friends!!

Diya (Tech): Shrek was truly an exciting experience! As a member of the tech team, I was honoured to be a part of this year’s musical. I thoroughly enjoyed helping and interacting with different year groups of amazing people! Every musical number and scene in the show captivated me, the cast was incredible and I was overjoyed to have witnessed it. Thank you, Mrs Elliott!

Ellie (Band): I was so grateful to be a part of the band for Shrek. I have always wanted to be a part of the musical band but haven’t had a chance until now. Playing with professional musicians was such an amazing experience and I loved being able to accompany (and watch) the cast. With it being my last musical at The Abbey, it made the experience even more special, especially as I was able to share it with some of my closest friends.
