The results from the Bebras Challenge are in, and WOW!
305 Abbey students in the Senior School took part in the challenges which tests computational thinking and logic skills. Following the publication of the results on Monday we learnt that over 50 girls in the school received a “Gold” Certificate indicating that they scored in the top 10% in the country in their age range.
These students will be invited to take part in the first round of the Oxford University Computing Challenge which will take place online in school in the middle of January.

Robert Bradley, Head of Computer Science, reacted “This is an amazing achievement which demonstrates the wealth of Computing talent we have within the student body here at The Abbey School.”
Sarah Tullis, Deputy Head Academic, said “It is really exciting to see our focus on Computer Science reaping such superb results, and to think of all that these skills will enable our students to do in the future. Big thanks to Robert Bradley and his team and congratulations to these students.”
One parent commented “I’m truly flabbergasted … that deserves some serious recognition. Thank you very much indeed for all your hard work with them.”
Certificates will be given in class to all the students who took part in the competition over the next couple of weeks with the “Top in School” certificate for each age range being handed out in Assembly.
