Second Dan Black Belt at twelve

on

After practising for 3 years since she got the first Dan black belt, Thimuthu in Lower IV achieved 2nd Dan black belt during the Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association (TISKA) grading held on Saturday 8 November. This is a huge achievement, as normally you have to train for almost a decade, but Thimuthu is one of the youngest students in the country to reach this level, achieving it at age 12. Huge congratulations.

Thimuthu has been practising karate since she was 3 years old and earned her black belt at 9. She has participated in many national-level competitions and won championships in the past.

She did not give up, even when it was hard — and that is what made her shine. And if she could keep going, so can you — every small step brings you closer to your own black belt moment.
