River of Hope Upper III

on

Upper III celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a cross-curricular day, during which they used a variety of media to  express their hopes for the next 70 years. This included learning about the ‘River of Hope’ movement and creating an art installation of origami boats on which they wrote a multitude of messages of hope for the planet. The Queen has always shown a great love and respect for the natural environment and River of Hope is an arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers.

“Today I’ve learned all about Marcus Rashford and how he has changed the UK with his plan for school dinners.  I have also understood now about British Values and the laws and democracy in the UK.

My favourite part of the day was the singing and dancing because it was a very creative way to express ourselves. The origami boats were also very fun to make with my friends”
