Regional Modern Biathlon Success

on

On Saturday ten students from Seniors took part in the South/South East Regional Modern Biathlon Championships at Bracknell. They had to complete a swim and then, after a short break, a track run.

Times for each event are allocated points that are combined to give a final total. This then gives the positions and these totals will be put forward into a national ranking list for qualification into the British Schools Modern Biathlon Championships in March.

In the U12 age group Lily, Rosa, Ella, Sofia and Stephanie came 8th, 17th, 18th, 22nd and 25th respectively with Lily, Rosa and Ella combining to get 2nd team overall. In the U13 age group, Anaya, Shumeng and Jess came second with excellent 4th, 6th and 17th places respectively. Holly came 9th in the U14.

Well done to all girls who took part and we wait to hear whether they have qualified for Nationals in the New Year.

Junior School students also performed really well at the event. There were fantastic runs from Ria and Mayowa, and super speedy swims from Jianing and Jasmine. We hope to hear soon if they will progress to the finals.

The U9s compromised Ria (18th overall), Alison (46th overall), Rosa (47th overall), Katherine (49th overall) and Isabelle (50th overall), whilst the U10s were made up from Mayowa (18th overall), Jasmine (22nd overall) and Jianing (27th overall), Mia (32 overall) Our only U11 competitor Jinxin finished well in 14th place overall.
