On Saturday the Inter and Senior teams travelled to Downside School in Somerset for the ESAA South West Regional Schools Cross Country Cup. They had qualified by finishing in the top three at the county round earlier in October.
It was a beautiful sunny day for November and the students did fantastically on a fast, flattish course. The Senior team of Carys, Cara, Bhakti and Alisa came an excellent 7th place with an overall individual win by Carys, who held the lead from the gun and pulled away over the laps to win convincingly.
The Inter team of Lily, Isabella, Grace, Imogen, Matilda and Ruby packed together excellently and came in 8th, 9th, 10th, 24th, 27th and 40th against a tough field, coming 3rd team overall. This fantastic position means that the Inter team were selected to compete at the ESAA Schools National Cross Country Cup Final in Leeds in December as one of the top 27 teams in the country. They were the only Berkshire team to be selected and should be very proud of this achievement. We wish them good luck in this competition.
