Reception After School Care Christmas Party

on

On Friday 5 December in After School Care, the Reception children came to the Junior School for their very own Christmas party.

With Christmas tunes in the background, lots of Christmas fun was had and some parents even came and joined in with the festivities! Wooden tree decorations were coloured in as well as making their own wreaths and decorating paper snowmen with silly outfits using stickers!

To help Father Christmas find their house on Christmas Eve, name door hangers were made alongside reindeer food. The children scooped oats into a bowl and carefully added eco-glitter before mixing and spooning into reindeer food packets. The girls were very kind and even made an extra packet for their younger siblings.

A firm favourite was the fake snow messy play in the tuff tray. The girls loved feeling squishy texture and enjoyed moulding it into snowballs and mini snowmen! The children also enjoyed playing games with their parents including Lego, balancing pandas and ‘hedbanz.’ ‘Hedbanz’ was particularly enjoyed, as the girls tried to get their teachers and parents to guess what item was on their headbands. They did this through clues, answering questions and even physical movements (like wiggling on the floor like worms)!
The children had a wonderful time and we loved having them and their parents join us for this festive celebration. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Before and After School Care team!
