Reading Festival of Sport @ The Abbey

on

We are looking for parents with expertise in sport,  who can support the inaugural Reading Festival of Sport @ The Abbey, between Monday 20 – Friday 24 June.  As part of the build up to the 2022 Commonwealth Games, the festival will celebrate the sporting disciplines that will feature in the Birmingham Games this summer.  Are you a Commonwealth Games medallist? Have you competed in the Commonwealth Games?  Do you participate in a sport that will feature at the 2022 Commonwealth Games as part of a local sports club? If so, the school would love to hear your story as part of the Festival.  The sports that will feature in the 2022 Commonwealth Games are: Aquatics (diving & swimming); Athletics; Badminton; Basketball; Volleyball; Boxing; Cricket T20; Cycling; Gymnastics (Artistic & Rhythmic); Hockey; Judo; Lawn Bowls; Netball; Rugby Sevens; Squash; Table Tennis; Triathlon; Weightlifting; Wrestling.  The Festival will offer students the opportunity to get involved in taster sessions, demonstrations or masterclasses. The school is welcoming expertise from the parent & alumnae community, as well as sporting clubs across Reading.

If you can offer relevant experience, expertise or contacts in any of these sports or have been involved in the Commonwealth Games, please email externalrelations@theabbey.co.uk
