On Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr Karen O’Donnell, who gave a fascinating talk about doing theology from the perspective of trauma. The lecture explored the often forgotten second verse of Genesis, and how this hugely affects how theology is done from the perspective of trauma. Dr O’Donnell encouraged us all to embrace the chaos in our lives, which is something that we and many others who attended will carry with us for a long time.

This talk kickstarted what we hope will be an annual series of talks about theology, in partnership with the Reading University Chaplaincy. The talk was truly fascinating and we can’t wait to attend the next one!
