On Thursday, my fellow pianists and I had the amazing opportunity to perform at this year’s piano recital. The experience, although slightly nerve-wracking at first, turned out to be incredibly rewarding and memorable. As each piece was played and the music filled the room, you could hear the emotion and depth in every performance, and see how each pianist became completely absorbed, and one with their music. There was such a wide variety of styles, from delicate and expressive melodies to powerful and dramatic pieces, which made the evening truly special. Personally, performing pushed me out of my comfort zone, but once I began playing, I felt proud to share something I had worked so hard on. The supportive atmosphere from the audience made it even more meaningful. I would definitely encourage everyone to come and watch the recital next year – it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the talent within our school. And if you play the piano, I highly recommend taking part; it’s a fantastic opportunity to grow in confidence, showcase your skills, and be part of such an inspiring event!
