Outdoor learning in Reception

on

Come rain or shine, Reception have enjoyed exploring our outdoor area in Abbey Gardens in recent weeks. We have observed the changing seasons, from the leaves falling of Autumn to the icy puddles of Winter. The children were excited to observe the first shoots of Spring last week and are looking forward to recording the changes we see as they begin to bloom. We have made mud pies, built dens, made potions and jumped in puddles, all whilst learning the importance of taking a moment to listen to the sounds of nature, look for wildlife and realise that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
