Our journey at The Abbey has been a joyful, character-building, and unforgettable experience. As our time as Head Girls comes to an end, we reflect with immense pride and appreciation for the journey we have shared with our school community. It has been a true honour to represent our peers and serve in this role alongside one another. From the beginning, our aim was to strengthen relationships, encourage inclusivity, and ensure every student felt valued and supported, while, of course, upholding the Abbey’s key values of confidence, purpose, and joy.

Throughout the year, we have been proud to organise a range of events that brought different year groups together and expanded student support circles. Our Games Nights with Lower IV, Lower V, and Lower VI created opportunities for teamwork, laughter, and friendship beyond the classroom. The Bowling Night with Upper IV was another highlight, with mixed Sixth Form and Upper IV lanes. Our Circle Time Chats with Upper III allowed us to support and reassure younger students as they began their secondary school journey, while our Hot Chocolate and Chats with Upper V provided encouragement before a year full of milestones. In addition, our Fifth Form Common Room activities created welcoming spaces for students to relax and connect. Through these initiatives we believe we have strengthened relationships across the school, particularly within our Sixth Form community and the younger years, and helped build a more united and positive atmosphere.

One of our favourite projects has been the introduction of the Head Girls’ podcast, where we had the chance to interview inspirational and valuable members of The Abbey. We asked them fun questions, played a game and rated a slice of cake! It was lovely interviewing all groups across our community all the way from a Junior school student, to Mr Hills, who is the longest standing member of staff at The Abbey. The episodes will be released very soon…

We would like to express our sincere thanks to our inspirational Head of The Abbey, Dr Tullis, whose guidance, encouragement, and belief in us has been invaluable throughout our time as Head Girls. Her leadership has inspired us to lead with confidence, act with purpose, and find joy in everything we do. We are also extremely grateful to all members of staff who have supported us, encouraged our ideas, and helped turn our plans into reality. Your dedication and commitment have made our journey both rewarding and memorable.

As we move forward, we would like to wish the very best of luck to our fellow Upper VI students as we face the challenges of exams and the opportunities ahead. We are confident that the determination, resilience, and ambition within our year group will lead to great success, and we look forward to celebrating each other’s achievements.

Being Head Girls has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our school lives. We have loved representing The Abbey, learning how to lead with integrity, and working together to make a positive difference. We will always cherish the memories, friendships, and lessons we have gained. It has truly been an honour to have been given a chance to create change, and we are proud of everything we have achieved together.
