¡Nos vamos de tapas!

on

On the 12th of June, we went on a Spanish tapas trip to Sanpa, an authentic Spanish restaurant in Wokingham. It was a fantastic opportunity to apply our Spanish in real-life context and experience traditional Spanish food. We went as a group with our teachers and classmates, which made the atmosphere really fun and relaxed. My friend Isabella and I shared two delicious traditional Spanish dishes: baked chorizo with cider, which had an amazing rich flavour, and a classic tortilla de patatas which was really tasty. We used Spanish phrases like “Quisiera…” and “Para mi…” to order, and made sure to say “Por favor” and “Gracias” each time to ensure we were being polite. To finish, we shared some churros for dessert, which were warm, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Throughout the visit, we used a variety of key expressions we’ve practised in class, such as “¿Dónde está el baño, por favor?” when in need of the toilet, and “¿Cuánto cuesta?” to ask about the prices of different foods from the menu. It was a really fun way to bring our classroom learning to life, and I feel more confident now using Spanish in real situations. Overall, it was a great experience, both useful and enjoyable.
