At the Junior school, we participated in Neurodiversity celebration week. We started with an assembly where we watched a video to explain some of the aspects of neurodiversity. We talked about some people’s hidden talents – some of the passions we don’t always see in school such as photography, horse riding and even waggling our ears! Bravely, some of us even shared some of the things we find more challenging in life such as spelling, sitting still, trying to remember things and being organised. We had the opportunity to drop into the Learning Support department to find out more. Over at Abbey Gardens, our younger pupils listened to stories about characters with different types of brains – including dyslexia, autism and ADHD and also watched a video about neurodiversity.
If you would like to find out more or share it with your children, there are lots of lovely things to read and watch on the official website- https://www.neurodiversityweek.com/
