This week we celebrated National Poetry Day. The theme this year is Wonder and we launched our celebrations with a Wonderful assembly, looking at poets from the past and exploring some of their famous verse – all brought to life by the English Department dressed up as some of these writers.

On National Poetry Day itself, staff and students volunteered to ‘Busk’ and so performances of a range of poems by a range of speakers could be heard outside the dining room. It really was a Wonder to behold.

Finally, we have launched our Autumn Creative Writing competition. Students have until 16 October to submit ther poems or stories based on the theme of Wonder.
