National Netball updates

on

Last Friday 4 November, the U12A team took on Heathfield in round 3 of the School Sport Magazine National netball cup. After a close 10-9 win against Queen Anne’s before half term, the squad were looking to improve. Milla (captain of the match and player of the match) summarises the performance below.

“I think that we did some good passing and made lots of interceptions. We also scored lots of goals and on the whole played really well. I think we could have got a better score by not throwing the ball away too much and to practise doing less footwork. My highlight of the game was getting ‘player of the game’ and securing many clean passes”.

As well as success at U12 level, on the first day back after half term the U14s travelled all the way to Kent to play against Sevenoaks in their Sisters’n’Sport round 2 match. With all ten players taking to court, they scored a huge 47 goals, whilst only conceding seven – with no goals from the opposition coming in the last quarter. Due to a bye-round in round 3, the squad are through to round 4! We find out if we face Churcher’s College or Queen Anne’s in early December, and look forward to playing them at home before the deadline at the end of January.

The U16s also remain in their competition and play Beaconsfield High in round 3.
