We are thrilled to share some fantastic news about Zifei in Lower III, who has achieved a remarkable musical milestone. Zifei, a talented flautist, recently auditioned and was successfully offered a highly coveted place in the Orchestral Weekends of the prestigious National Children’s Orchestra (NCO).
This is an incredible achievement and a wonderful testament to Zifei’s dedication and skill. As a member of the NCO, Zifei will be part of a vibrant community of young musicians aged 8-14 who come together to experience the joy of making orchestral music. The program is designed to significantly enhance musical development through rich and engaging activities.

Zifei will participate in full orchestral rehearsals and sectional practices, tackling an incredible range of music, from well-known classics to newly discovered pieces and compositions written specifically for the young musicians.
One of the most exciting aspects of the NCO experience is the opportunity to meet and play alongside guest artists. Specially themed programmes often feature visits from leading figures in the music world, such as Jess Gillam (Saxophonist) and
Sheku Kanneh-Mason (Cellist).
Massive congratulations to Zifei on this outstanding success! We look forward to hearing about the amazing music Zifei creates with the National Children’s Orchestra.
