Music Interludes

on

A special Ensemble Edition of the Interludes Recital Series took place in the music department this week. We were delighted to hear both the Guitar and Saxophone Ensembles perform contrasting pieces of music to a supportive audience. The recital opened with a beautifully understated arrangement of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da from the Guitar Ensemble, led by Louisa. Multi-tasking impressively as MC for the occasion as well, Louisa then introduced the Saxophone Ensemble who played a rousing version of the Theme from Rhapsody in Blue, also featuring a part on baritone saxophone and arranged by our peripatetic saxophone teacher, Mr. Frost. In addition to being the centenary of this particular piece this year, Wednesday was, in fact, National Saxophone Day, too! What a fitting way to celebrate!

On Wednesday 6 November, I had the brilliant opportunity to perform in the weekly interludes recital with the guitar ensemble.

We performed Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da by the Beetles in three parts, arranged by Mr Malafronte. T

The interludes are a wonderful chance to showcase talent across the school in a comfortable and informal manner, and the ensemble special did not disappoint!
