Last Saturday, during the Royal Institute Masterclass, Mr Standfield introduced us to the very big and very wide world of fractals. We started off by experimenting with them and trying to draw one ourselves! Afterwards, we delved into come formulas to find the area, perimeter of these fractals and more. We then looked at some more famous fractals, like the Menger Sponge and some natural fractals like the Romanesco Broccoli! Overall it was a fascinating experience mixed with some very hard A-Level maths and some fun experimenting with drawings and real life examples.
