Lower III had a fantastic and memorable time in Manorbier during their residential. The weather was absolutely wonderful with lots of sunshine and not too much breeze, the perfect conditions for all the exciting activities. There was kayaking right next to the Pembroke Castle, a beautiful scenic walk to the Manorbier Castle, lots of team building exercises, orienteering as well as climbing and abseiling. There was also coasteering at Stackpole Quay, which included a 4 metre jump for those who were willing to give it a go, as well as moving along rocky terrain and swimming in quite choppy waters. Perhaps, the ultimate favourite activity was bodyboarding at Manorbier Beach; the waves were perfect and some of the pupils even saw a curious seal – we bet he was tempted to join. There was also lots of fun during the evening activities organised by the Abbey team. Pupils had a chance to explore the Church Door Cove, compete to build the tallest rock tower, test their knowledge in a quiz which even included some interesting facts about their teachers and participate in a fashion show with their own creations made from recycled materials. Special shout out to Emily – instructors’ Star of the Week. She showed excellent perseverance, lots of kindness, and was happy to help others even when she didn’t have to. What a brilliant way to end the year!
