At the start of Monday’s Maths lesson, Lower III received a most peculiar letter from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As it turned out, the Hogwarts staff had been in secret communication with the Abbey teachers to prepare a set of magical mathematical challenges. After being sorted into their houses by the Sorting Hat, pupils rushed to complete four distinct tasks: calculating measurements for Madam Hooch’s Quidditch field blueprints, mastering ratios and recipes for Mrs Weasley’s Sunday lunch, breaking codes for Harry and his friends, and converting wizarding currency between Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts. What a truly “magical” Maths lesson!
