On Friday 26 April, Lower VI English Literature students (plus Dr Button and Mrs Hart) watched a fabulous production of The Importance of Being… Earnest? performed by the Say It Again, Sorry? Theatre Company, at the Newbury Corn Exchange.
It wasn’t your normal performance, however: many of the actors were supposedly delayed or missing and couldn’t perform, so they called for audience members to step in and save the show. This twist on the play we know so well (we’re studying it for A Level) was hilarious to watch. Near the end, Violet stepped in to play piano when Algernon broke his arm! It was an amazing evening which we all enjoyed truly.
The pictures show Grace and Maria on stage with some of the cast during the interval, and Violet taking her bow with the actor who played Algernon Moncrief (arm miraculously healed!) at the end of the play.
