On Thursday 3 July just over thirty Lower V students visited the University of Oxford Open Day.
In the morning they went to subject departments to learn about course structures, the distinctive experience of studying at Oxford and the facilities available to them.

In the afternoon we met Helena Pizura, a recent alumna studying Biochemistry at New College, and we toured St Peter’s College and New College. Helena spoke about the intensity and excitement of studying at Oxford, and the school’s excellent support for applicants.

It was a long day with many students walking over twelve kilometres, a distance which would satisfy a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award assessor. However, the chance to talk through Oxford’s educational and collegiate systems with academics and current university students was worth it.
We hope that the students feel excited about their summer Enrichment plans and all the opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills which will boost applications to elite universities.
