Lower Prep Workshop

on

On Monday Lower Preparatory accompanied an Earth Explorer on a global expedition traversing the five oceans and seven continents of the world. Whilst learning facts about the size and inhabitants of each ocean, they investigated the landmarks and climates of each of the continents, including the Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef and Mount Everest.

Mrs Hurley was excited when we stopped off at her home country, Zimbabwe, during our visit to Africa where we visited Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world!

We discovered that the falls are nicknamed ‘the smoke that thunders’ due to the huge plumes of mist that engulfs the area as water roars over the edge. On our arrival back in the United Kingdom we finished with our Earth Explorers salute, ready to put our knowledge into practice as we begin our next unit of inquiry after half term all about ‘Sharing the Planet’.
