Lower IV House Bake Off – Biscuit Bonanza!

on

This week in Food and Nutrition, Lower IV were in action making some wonderful biscuits from scratch and decorating them to match their house colours.

There was such a happy feeling in the room as the students competed for house points as well as making their best work, including cutting different shapes and decorating with a mixture of buttercream, royal and glace icing.  Some students used sprinkles and some chose sweets and chocolate to finish their work.

The entries were judged by our artist in residence (and enthusiastic foodie) Isaac, with Marketing and Catering staff making up our esteemed judging panel.  They were looking for a well formed, even and crisp golden biscuit with good flavour, melt in the mouth texture and a promising snap!  It must have been a tough decision – the scores were so close…

Carrington Team 1 won the day with their entry, followed by Paget team 1 and Kensington Team 2 taking joint silver.

Well done to all of the student competitors!

Thank you!
