The Abbey Junior School’s Lower III football team travelled to Portsmouth on Wednesday to participate in the IAPS regional 7-a-side football tournament, hosted by Portsmouth Grammar School. This event provided a valuable opportunity for the team to test their abilities against regional competition. The girls demonstrated excellent application of their practice skills on the pitch, executing smart plays and maintaining strong possession. They faced significant challenges from tough opposition, resulting in a day of very closely contested matches. Regardless of the scores, the experience was highly beneficial, allowing the team to gain competitive exposure and play against multiple schools from across the South East of England. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and should be proud of their performance and conduct.
