Lower I visit Maidenhead Mosque

on

Last week Lower I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Maidenhead Mosque. They started by excitedly finding the external features of a mosque – the dome, minaret and the crescent moon symbol. Once inside the girls were able to explore the prayer hall, find out about the history of the mosque, ask questions about all aspects of the Muslim faith and visit the wudu area (washrooms where ritual cleaning takes place before prayer).

It was a very informative and interesting visit and the girls gained so much from seeing for themselves all we have learnt about in the classroom.
