The adventures of the little red London bus in the picture book Naughty Bus by Jan Oke sparked the imagination of the girls in the nursery as they excitedly set out to create their own cardboard bus for their nursery travel. After listening to the story, they had many opportunities to immerse themselves in imaginative play—re-enacting the story, singing their favourite song – Wheels on the Bus with friends, and even designing bus tickets for their bus journey.

We were particularly impressed by how the girls kept a close watch on the toy red bus, ensuring it didn’t go off on another mischief! We also took this opportunity to inspire conversation and imaginative thinking through storytelling.

The children were encouraged to imagine the bus’s next adventure, expressing their ideas through drawings and confidently sharing their narratives.
