On Monday we visited the British Museum’s new Legion exhibition on life as a Roman soldier.
It was fascinating to see the ancient artefacts and read about the soldiers’ challenges and rewards in the military. My favourite artefact was the sock that the Roman soldiers had to wear, and it had a slit in the toe so that they could wear their sandals simultaneously.
We also really enjoyed the interactive exhibits, especially the ones that helped us truly understand what life would’ve been like for them. Overall, it was definitely worth the long drive, and we would encourage others to visit.
