In our recent French lesson we had a tasting of a variety of French snacks. This relates to our current topic which is Food and Nutrition and looks specifically at French food. We put on our berets and got into the festive spirit whilst embracing the culture of the language we are learning. With French flags on the tables and our whole class surrounding them, we passed around the plethora of food which we had brought in. We shared our opinions with each other in French, using the vocabulary learnt during lessons. Some foods such as the ‘croissant au chocolat’ were delicious getting responses such as “miam miam” and “je l’adore” whilst others like the ‘fromage SPL’ (dairy-free) were less fondly received and led to opinions such as “j’ai horreur de ça,” “ça c’est dégoûtant” and “BEURK!” Overall this was a great experience linking our classroom learning with the wider world whilst bonding with our class – needless to say it was a great way to put our iGCSE French knowledge into practice and the (majority of the) food was “vraiment goûteuse.”
