Juniors Charity Afternoon

on

After a very busy first half of the Summer term, it was time to kick back and set off for half term with goodies in our bags and the memories of fun spent in the sun at our annual Charity Afternoon.

It was a success in terms of the weather, the spirit shown by our mini entrepreneurs, and the knowledge that we were raising money for charitable causes in Berkshire.

Paget was supporting Dolphin Adventures in Pangbourne, a community-led centre that aims to engage young people and adults with the opportunity to experience adventure sports. Run by volunteers who wish to share their love of the great outdoors, we are a centre of excellence for the Duke of Edinburgh awards, the home of the Pangbourne Paddlesport Club, a school holiday club, climbing classes, and other community classes.

Carrington was raising money for the RNLI, particularly the station based in St. Ives in Cornwall, which hosted the Choir Tour for a visit in 2023.

Kensington dug deep into their pockets to keep Heroes Berkshire going strong. They are a charity dedicated to empowering young people through working on their farm, interacting with animals, and immersing themselves in nature. They gain valuable skills and grow socially and emotionally.

Ducat came closer to home, thinking of the elderly in the Lakeside Care Home. Their money will go towards keeping the residents busy with craft activities and entertainment. Particular mention should go to a group of Paget Lower III students who raised a whopping £140.00 on their stall selling very popular crocheted animals alongside a slice of cake; what could be better?
