Junior School Sports Days

on

On Tuesday and Wednesday we enjoyed our Upper II / Lower III and Lower I / Upper I sports days. There were some fantastic performances and many records broken. The excitement filled the astro as everyone watched Leanne and Georgia in Lower III compete in the high jump to get first place and break the school record with a jump of 1.30m. Serena went on to demonstrate her talent in the long jump and shot put, breaking records in both. She jumped an incredible 4.60m and threw the shot put 14.30m. Krisha created a new discus record of 15.40m, it is the first year we have included discus as one of the events for Lower III so well done to the students who competed in it. Jola broke the Upper II shot put record with a throw of 10.8m and a brilliant performance. On the track Serena and Luna created the new 75m record with 12.47sec closely followed by Araliya in second with a time of 12.49sec. It was great to see everyone competing for their house and the overall house places for Upper II and Lower III were 1st- Kensington, 2nd- Ducat, 3rd- Paget and 4th- Carrington. Lower I/Upper I competed on Wednesday with many parents coming along to support. There were a range of races to choose from including the bean bag pick up and the obstacle race. Kaavya ran the quickest 50m sprint in 8.82 seconds for Upper I and Ria won her 50m sprint in a time of 9.10 seconds for Lower I. The overall winning house was Carrington, with second place going to Paget, third to Ducat and fourth to Kensington. We wish Lower Prep and Upper Prep good luck at their sports day on Tuesday.
