Junior School House Music

on

Last week there was the sound of music coming from different venues across the Junior School with each year group from Lower I to Lower III playing instrumental solos to earn points for their houses in our annual House Music competition. The judges were treated to a wide range of instruments and genres of music. Each one mentioned how difficult it was to choose a winner, as all pupils had played with style and confidence, from those who had only been playing a couple of months to our more accomplished musicians.

At the end of the week the whole school came together for the climax of the competition with the House Songs. Reception to Upper Prep sang songs on an animal theme where we had ducks waddling, pigs for pets and an animal train. Lower I to Lower III sang songs from films/shows that have children as main characters and this included songs from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.

The results were as follows

Instrumental Classes

Lower I – Ducat
Upper I – Ducat
Upper II – Carrington
Lower III – Carrington

Reception – Upper Prep song – Paget
Lower I to Lower III song – Ducat

Once all the totals were added together CARRINGTON were announced as the winners.

Well done to all who took part and for supporting each other in this musical event.
