On the 12th of February we were really lucky to have Jordan Wylie, MBE, come into our skills for life session and deliver an inspirational talk about his life experiences. He spoke about his time enlisted in the army and how that impacted and shaped the rest of his journey. While on tours, he witnessed the huge differences in lifestyle and education for children in war conflicted zones. From there he began to raise money and aid, funding for schools in countries affected by war, allowing children to have a proper education. He did so in incredibly creative and inspiring ways including the “Running Dangerously” project where he ran through war-torn countries like Somalia and Iraq. His stories about his life in the army, setting Guinness World Records and building schools were truly motivating. Not to mention we all enjoyed hearing the hilarious stories he had from chasing and catching after our very own Miss Elliott in the Channel 4 TV programme Hunted!
